Entry Level Liability Adjuster (In-House)

Enterprise Rent-A-Car, an industry leader in the transportation world is hiring for their legal/liability department.  We are looking for career minded individuals to join our liability team.  No prior experience? Our in-house liability claims department handles car accidents resulting from Enterprise rental operations. The Liability Representative is assigned claims which are investigated, evaluated, and handled based on its merits. Daily contacts can include renters, claimants, attorneys, and body shops. We offer a performance-based career path with five different levels, and can branch into other roles such as management, auditing, and training.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in liability claims or risk management.

  • Under direct supervision, gather information to investigate and resolve liability claims, including conducting interviews and taking recorded statements, collecting medical data, police reports, repair estimates and other related investigative documents; Contact body shops and other related parties, conduct accident scene investigations, analyze information from scene investigations and vehicle inspections
  • Assist in the evaluation of property damage and determine extent of damages, evaluate non-complex bodily injury claims and determine extent of injuries and evaluate and determine coverage and liability
  • Learn to interpret claims information and develop recommendations for strategies for claim resolution based on experience and training
  • Learn to make recommendations and obtain management approval for any changes to settlement strategy
  • Receive and respond promptly and appropriately to requests from vendors, renters, claimants, attorneys and internal contacts
  • Maintain and handle confidential records, files, and correspondence, maintaining compliance with established standards
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training and goal setting
  • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality 
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • Must have obtained a bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of work experience
    • In lieu of work experience will consider involvement in organizations/clubs, volunteer work/community service, athletics or military.
  • Prior work experience in an office or administrative setting preferred
  • Previous insurance or claims related experience a plus
  • Must be able to work full-time
  • Must have the ability to travel when necessary
  • Must currently live in the Franklin, TN metropolitan area
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
