Responsibilities

The Application Security (AppSec) team is primarily responsible for providing authentication and authorization of role-based access control services to Enterprise applications.  In addition, our team handles provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts and synchronization of identity information.  We have more than 300 calling applications and the list continues to grow.  Our business-critical system supports a core component of many major applications that service our global rental customers and partners.  Our suite of products includes AppSec Services, Admin Express, Password Manager, External Password Manager, Odyssey Security Bridge, Employee Express, and Logon Express.  With our team of support engineers, you will have an opportunity for leadership as you collaborate with management on planning and defining work for others to implement.  As part of our team, you will see that we are flexible, collaborative, and diverse.  Every day brings new challenges, different perspectives, and our product volume and technology needs continue to grow.  We are expanding our team with an opportunity to join in these efforts as a Lead Support Engineer. 

As a Lead Support Engineer, you will be empowering a team of support engineers and serving as a liaison between support operations and development.  As a key member of our team, your focus will be on providing viable recommendations for new solutions and refining processes to ensure security standards are met with efficiency and accuracy.  You will have the opportunity to use your problem-solving skills to investigate, diagnose and resolve complex issues.  Exercising leadership and sharing technical expertise to enable the team to analyze issues and implement solutions is a main component of your role.  As subject matter expert for our team, you will be the first point of contact for clients integrating with AppSec and will partner with various business and IT teams on a variety of inquiries.  You will collaborate with management to ensure security compliance during periodic external and internal audit processes.  You will also partner with management on defining the team roadmap and vision.  On-call responsibilities as part of shared team rotation is required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of Java language and Web Services
  • Must possess strong skill in leadership and coaching
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with various IT teams and business representatives
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must have a thorough understanding of software development and architecture 
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate and work with others in a remote work environment
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and requirements
  • Must perform production support tasks involving on-call responsibilities that would involve both during and after work hours
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization principles and standards
  • Knowledge and working experience with Request-It
  • Understanding and experience using transaction management capabilities of EJB and frameworks like Hibernate
  • Experience with IBM Workload Scheduler, Report Web, SQL, Shell Scripting, Public Key Infrastructure, and Certificate Management
  • Knowledge and experience with audit processes (GDPR, PCI, E&Y, CCPA, Internal, etc.)
  • Understanding and experience using Splunk
