Overview

The Senior Marketing Campaign Operations Specialist will be responsible for leading the campaign execution and marketing automation process for direct marketing initiatives (primarily email) across multiple brands and lines of business. This person plays a key role supporting business strategies and objectives as an in-house subject matter expert providing hands-on support and leadership for the development and deployment of marketing communications and journeys. This person will partner with various Marketing, Business Operations, and IT teams, as well as external partners, to execute acquisition, growth, and retention campaigns with a focus on improving campaign processes, deliverability, engagement, and performance goals.

This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and recommendations as a subject matter expert (SME) and in-house resource for direct marketing campaign operation and automation capabilities, opportunities, and best practices optimizing customer relationship management (CRM), campaign management, and marketing automation platforms.
  • Lead internal and external teams to develop and deploy one-to-one marketing communications (primarily email) supporting acquisition, growth, and retention initiatives across multiple brands and lines of business
  • Design, execute, and optimize all aspects of the campaign operations process end-to-end, including: requirements gathering and documentation, list development and segmentation, content creation and personalization, customer journey workflows, quality assurance testing, campaign execution and automation, inbox deliverability, measurement, and optimization.
  • Plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks, program schedules, and project deliverables by adapting to change, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines successfully.
  • Anticipate and proactively resolve issues impacting campaign schedules, executions, or performance; determine the best approach and make recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Plan and prioritize new database marketing and campaign operation requirements with IT teams, external agencies, and others to support business objectives in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular updates and thoughtful insights to internal and external partners regarding new functionality or improvements within the marketing automation platform; make sound recommendations to streamline processes, create synergies, and enhance performance while maintaining best-in-class marketing practices.
  • Manage external partners and own the administration of the marketing automation platform.
  • Test and optimize campaigns for improved efficiency, deliverability, engagement, and performance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of direct marketing best practices, laws (e.g. CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, etc.), and data governance policies to meet all compliance requirements.
  • May supervise one or more direct reports.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Marketing, IT or other applicable field) required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Five (5) or more years of direct, online or database marketing experience, preferably in email marketing, in an agency setting or marketing department required.
  • Three (3) or more years hands-on experience using marketing automation tools to support B2C or B2B Marketing efforts (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Marketing, Pardot, Marketo, SAS Customer Intelligence, IBM Unica, etc.).
  • Experience with list development and segmentation, email template creation, test and control strategies, quality assurance testing and troubleshooting, email deployment and automation required.
  • Familiar with database concepts and able to manipulate large sets of data required.
  • Experience in management of third-party vendors required.
  • Experience using data to develop actionable insights required.
  • Experience analyzing key marketing metrics required.
  • Experience working with various levels of management required.
  • Experience with coding languages such as SQL, AMPscript, or HTML preferred.
  • Mobile Marketing experience preferred.
  • Retail, travel or automotive experience preferred.
  • International marketing experience preferred.
