Overview

Enterprise Holdings has an opportunity for a Software Engineer.  This person is responsible for performing business analysis, data analysis, design, and development on projects of low to medium complexity. This includes the development of low to medium complex code, applications, and Business Intelligence reporting solutions independently and as part of a team. This position will utilize various tools and technologies (e.g. MS Reporting Services, SQL, VB, SAS, ETL, Unix Shell Scripting, SharePoint, C#) for maintaining and creating new applications and reporting solutions for our Daily Rental Division. The Software Engineer also assists with the analysis and review of software requirements and attends design presentations and/or design sessions.

 

This position is located at our Worldwide Headquarters in Clayton, MO.

Responsibilities

  • Independently gain an understanding of the business needs and objectives for moderately complex projects by working directly with the business sponsors

  • Participate in discussions with senior team members to determine and gain an understanding of the business needs and objectives for complex projects
  • Participate in discussions with senior team members to determine and gain an understanding of the data requirements for complex projects
  • Design technical solutions for small to moderately sized projects
  • Document business and technical requirements
  • Develop and maintain simple to moderately complex ad-hoc and recurring BI reporting solutions using a variety of reporting tools and techniques
  • Develop basic to moderately complex SQL statements
  • Develop basic to moderately complex ETL processes
  • Develop basic to moderately complex Unix Shell Scripts
  • Develop and maintain SAS programs of basic to moderate complexity
  • Determine data availability and timing through data analysis
  • Develop, Monitor, and maintain automated processes using various tools and technologies (ex: IBM’s Tivoli Workload Automation)
  • Develop non-standard reporting solutions. These solutions may utilize a variety of technologies and/or languages (ex: HTML, Javascript, XML, SOAP, JSON, C#)
  • Schedule and present code specifications and programming logic for code reviews
  • Develop unit test cases, test, document test results, and present those results for review
  • Assist analyzing and reviewing software requirements to determine feasibility of design
  • Troubleshoot issues with existing processes as they arise
  • Assist in the provisioning of access to existing solutions
  • Design and/or develop security solutions for projects of basic to moderate complexity
  • Develop working relationships with members of the Rental Systems department including our Business Analysis and Field Support teams

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Computer Science Degree preferred)
  • Two (2) years or more of relevant experience requried

  • Must be able to write concise, logical, grammatically correct business correspondence and technical documentation and reports

  • Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft office required

  • Intermediate understanding or the aptitude to quickly achieve an intermediate understanding of IS infrastructure, Enterprise Holdings' databases, ECARS/Odyssey Data Warehouse, Enterprise Holdings' source systems and reporting tools required

  • Must be authorized to work in the US and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
