Overview

Enterprise Mobility is seeking a responsible, dedicated person to join our team as a Truck Technician.The Truck Technician will perform medium duty, diesel truck mechanical and warranty repairs, as well as diagnose and troubleshoot drivability problems for the trucks in the Truck Rental Division.

 

This is a full-time postition working 40 hours per week with a pay range of $35 / hour based on qualifications! This position is located at 6600 S Central Ave, Bedford Park, IL 60638. This is a union environment, the schedule for this position includes evenings, weekends, and Holidays

 

The Truck Technician must have and maintain a minimum of 4 ASE certifications from the following certifications:

 

T1—Gasoline Engines

T2--Diesel Engines

T3—Drive Train

T4—Brakes

T5—Suspension & Steering

T6—Electrical/Electronic Systems

T7—Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning (HVAC)

T8—Preventive Maintenance Inspection

E1—Truck Equipment Installation & Repair

E2—Electrical/Electronic Systems Installation & Repair

E3—Auxiliary Power Systems Installation & Repair

P1—Medium—Heavy Truck Parts Specialist

L2—Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist Certification

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all mechanical and warranty repairs are completed according to the manufacture’s specifications and guidelines.
  • Perform routine and annual DOT required repairs and inspections.
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results, often by using dials, gauges, and other computer equipment
  • Raise trucks and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles.
  • Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts.
  • Properly inspect and replace trucks tires as needed to ensure company standards are upheld.
  • Maintain vehicle repair history by documenting a Repair Order to accurately reflect steps taken and part(s) used during the repair.
  • Comply with part and inventory tracking procedures.
  • Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs.
  • Utilize multiple manufacturers’ websites, software and diagnostic tools.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in company, manufacturer, ASE certifications, and other industry related training.
  • Participate in company and manufacturer approved training or other industry related training.
  • Follow proper procedures to comply with all health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain the work area in a safe, clean condition and comply with all uniform and equipment standards. 
  • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned which could include Automotive repair work as well.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have at least one of the following:
    • 1 year of truck mechanical experience and willing to earn at least 4 Truck ASE’s with-in one year, OR
    • Have at least 4 Truck ASE certifications from the list above.
  • Must possess an IL C-Class driver’s license or be willing to get one with-in 30 days of starting in the position.
  • Will be required to submit an appropriate medical examiner’s certificate or submit to and successfully complete a DOT medical examination.
  • Will be required to take a drug test and pass due to the safety sensitivity of the position.
  • Ownership of standard hand tools to perform repairs and maintenance on current vehicles.
  • Must be able to work outside in a covered area with exposure to all types of weather and temperatures
  • Moderate physical activity which requires handling of objects up to 25 pounds with long periods of time standing and walking
  • Must have a valid driver's license 
  • Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English
  • Must be available for flexible work hours including weekends - this is a union position requiring a shift bidding process.
