As we continue to build our team in support of our vision to the be the world’s best and most trusted mobility company, we are excited to announce the opening of a new position within the Corporate Benefits Department – Benefits Specialist!

 

The Benefits Specialist assists with the oversight and administration of North America Health and Welfare benefit plans.  This role will develop, interpret, review, validate, document, and maintain business requirements and develop strategic goals for the North American benefits programs as well as develop and manage special projects necessary to achieve identified goals and objectives and to ensure compliance with applicable laws, Company standards and best practices.  This position will also partner with internal and external partners to contribute to the overall efficiency of department operations.

 

This position reports into our Corporate Headquarters in St. Louis, MO, with a hybrid schedule available (4 days in office, 1 day work from home).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration and oversight of North American health and welfare and fringe benefits
  • Monitor the implementation of ongoing improvements to processes, welfare and other benefit initiatives, plan design, plan reporting, data analysis, eligibility files, benefits portals and intranet sites and employee communications
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for benefit plan enhancements or changes, including assessment of risks and benefits, and present recommendations to management
  • Investigate, identify, and analyze key issues and develop workable solutions
  • Evaluate business requests to determine feasibility; research and analyze options that best serve business needs
  • Interpret and explain EM employee benefit programs; respond to administrative and policy questions
  • Investigate and respond to eligibility and claim questions and inquiries from Benefits Central
  • Monitor, track and report on new benefits legislation and industry-related topics to ensure plan compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and best practices
  • Manage administrative appeals
  • Ensure RFPs, contract terms and requirements are compliant with Company and legal standards
  • Develop and perform analysis of key benefit metrics
  • Analyze plan utilization, identify trends, and propose recommendations for cost savings and improved plan performance
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and benefits data including safeguarding Protected Heath Information (PHI) and Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
  • Assist in development of benefit communications in partnership with internal teams, review various benefits compliance documents, such as SPDs, SBCs and SARs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned benefit plans
  • Ensure RFPs, contract terms and requirements are compliant with Company and legal standards
  • Develop and perform analysis of key benefit metrics
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with U.S. and Canadian benefit vendors
  • Prepare for and lead both internal and external vendor meetings
  • Perform detailed review and analysis of vendor customer service dialog documents, vendor plan design documents, and the Summary Plan Description to ensure consistency
  • Manage special projects, as needed

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree; Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Must have 5 or more years’ relevant health and welfare benefits management experience at large corporations
  • Must have knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws, including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

Preferred:

  • SHRM, CEBS or other related certification
